# Requirements

- BHDO
- Hirschmann HiOS device with minimum Layer 2 Advanced operating system (see list of devices [here](https://www.doc.hirschmann.com/hios.html)) with OPC UA server enabled
- Ability to ping Hirschmann device from BHDO instance



# Option 1: Self-signed certificate



1. Enable the OPC UA server on the Hirschmann device running L2A HiOS:

2. Add a new "OPC UA Client Advanced" device in BHDO:

3. Update the settings on the driver

Note:

1. "User Name" and "Password" fields should match the usernames and  passwords set in the HiOS device OPC UA server settings
2. Under the "Advanced Settings" section, set the "Disable Error Certificate Host Name Invalid" field to "true".
